Real-Time 3D Visualization

A live, sensor-driven 3D model of the barge, boom, bucket, and bottom — what the operator sees is what the machine is doing.

ClamVision delivers real-time three-dimensional visualization of your dredge operation as it happens. Operators and supervisors see an accurate, live 3D model of the barge, boom, bucket, and spuds rendered directly from sensor data — no manual updating required.

What you can see at a glance

  • Live equipment model — the barge, crane, excavator arm, bucket, and spuds move on screen in sync with the physical machine, calculated from cable counters, encoders, inclinometers, and GPS
  • Design surface — imported from DXF, LandXML, or Shapefile, rendered as a colored mesh showing your target grade
  • Current work surface — automatically updated in real time as each bite completes, showing what has been removed and what remains
  • Bite heatmap overlay — color-coded by achieved depth, distance to design, or coverage density, so under-dredged areas stand out immediately
  • Satellite and aerial imagery — WCS/WMS imagery layers provide georeferenced context behind your equipment and survey data
  • Point cloud display — multibeam and single-beam sonar returns rendered as a 3D point cloud for high-resolution bottom mapping

Multiple synchronized views

ClamVision shows several views simultaneously so every member of the crew has the information they need:

  • Plan view (top-down) — full project overview with equipment position, barge outline, swing arc, bite footprints, and coverage fill
  • 3D perspective view — freely rotatable three-dimensional scene for depth and grade intuition
  • Cross-section viewer — live profile slice through the current dig position, showing design grade, current surface, and bucket depth on a single chart
  • Offset and swing gauges — heads-up numerical and graphical readouts of how far the bucket is from its target position

All views update in real time from the same sensor stream, so what the operator sees matches what the supervisor and project manager see.

Why real-time 3D matters

Traditional dredging relies on lead lines and periodic soundings to verify depth. ClamVision replaces that guesswork with continuous, sensor-derived knowledge of where the bucket is and what the bottom looks like. Operators dig with confidence, avoid over-dredging, and hit grade more consistently — reducing material disposal costs and re-mobilization risk.
