ClamVision includes a dedicated pipeline dredging module for trenching and burial operations. The pipeline module tracks progress along the pipeline alignment rather than across a two-dimensional survey area.
Chainage-based progress tracking
Pipeline progress is measured in chainage — distance along the pipeline centerline. ClamVision:
- Imports the pipeline centerline alignment from DXF or Shapefile
- Computes real-time chainage of the equipment position
- Tracks achieved trench depth at each chainage station
- Displays cross-track offset (how far the cutter or bucket is from the pipeline centerline)
- Shows a profile view of the trench depth versus design depth plotted along the alignment
Trench grade visualization
The cross-section viewer for pipeline operations shows the pipe, the design trench profile, and the current dredged trench in a single view. The operator can see in real time whether they are achieving the required depth and width, and whether they are drifting off the centerline.
Data Quality Management (DQM)
ClamVision’s pipeline DQM module logs mechanical status events alongside production data, supporting contractual data quality requirements for pipeline burial certification. Non-effective operating periods are detected and flagged automatically in the log.
